U.S. Soccer
In August 2011, Yingli Green Energy became the first Official Renewable Energy Partner of U.S. Soccer, including the U.S. Men’s, Women’s and Youth National Teams.
As part of the comprehensive three-year partnership, Yingli Green Energy will build its brand across the nation and will also work with U.S. Soccer on a number of philanthropic initiatives under the Yingli PASS Program that aim to provide solar energy for local athletic centers in disadvantaged communities.

Did you know? Soccer and solar energy are both rising mainstream markets in the U.S. — together, they are a powerful match:
- 4 out of the 5 largest solar markets are also among the top 5 in U.S. Soccer attendance: NJ, CA, PA, and MA
- Viewership of the Men’s World Cup in the U.S. grew by 68% from 2006-2010 to over 11M average viewers. During that same time, U.S. solar installations grew by 527% to reach 878 MW nationwide.
- More tickets were purchased by U.S. fans to the 2010 FIFA World Cup than any nation other than the host country of South Africa.
We’re passionate about supporting soccer, the world’s most popular game.
